HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The TNT network has ordered six episodes of “Life Flight” a document/ drama show that will follow several of Houston’s Memorial Hermann air-ambulance teams as they work tirelessly to implement life-saving practices and procedures.

The series is slated to launch in early 2014, and will take a behind-the scenes look at several medical teams from Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where the Life Flight service was born and continues to be pivotal in medical care.

Life Flight implements life-saving practices and procedures that take but seconds of decision-making from highly-skilled and trained medical professionals.

The show will also place focus on the hospital’s emergency room. Viewers will see first-hand what happens when a patient is brought into the facility and what is done to save the life of that patient. Memorial Hermann Hospital CEO Craig Cordola announced that the TNT Network has bought rights to the show.

“As many of you know, we’ve spent the last year working toward the production of a docu-drama series based right here at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center,” Cordola said. “Today I’m happy to share with you great news. The TNT Network, home to many highly acclaimed programs, has purchased our show, Cordola continued to add in a statement. Click here to view video of Life Flight.
