HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Known for that signature red hair and bubbly attitude, actress Bonnie Franklin, star of “One Day at a Time” has died. Franklin died due to complications from pancreatic cancer Friday. She was 69.
Franklin played a divorced mother of two girls on the hit show. With acting credits in tote, “One Day at a Time” catapulted Franklin into super stardom; the show hit the airwaves in 1975. Her onscreen daughters on the show were Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips.
The series ran on CBS for nine seasons.
