Children Transported To Hospital After Accident

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Several children were transported to the hospital after an SUV crashed into a day care van in Houston, during the rush hour on Friday.
According to reports, the accident happened at around 8 a.m. Friday morning on West 43rd, just west of Ella near Oak Forest Elementary School. According to Houston police, a silver Toyota RAV4 rear-ended the day care van which had 11 children in it.
Additional reports indicate that the driver of the SUV was traveling at a “good rate of speed”. A firefighter stated that the driver told them she had too much to drink.
The day care van, which is the property of Eagle Achievers Academy, had children on it that ranged in ages between four and five. There was one seven-year-old as well as one 14-year-old in the van. The driver as well as all of the children were taken to the hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police are continuing their investigation of the incident; at the time of this report, no charges were filed.
