HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A teen who was home from school sick was attacked by a burglar while she showered.

According to reports, the incident happened in the 16100 block of Bougainvilla Lane in Friendswood on Tuesday.

Both of the girl’s parents were not home when the attack happened. The mom stated that the suspect kicked in the front door to burglarize their home and ended up getting in the shower with her daughter. The suspect who was armed with a gun, fought with the teen.

He eventually fled and it is believed that he took a laptop from the family.

Friendswood police tried to track the scent of the suspect with their K-9 unit but lost it. The neighborhood where the attack is reportedly on high alert given this latest incident.
