HPD: Suspect Arrested, Charged In 2012 Fatal Shooting
HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that took place last year.
According to officials with HPD, the suspect identified as 28-year-old Jaycee Devonne Scallion, is charged with capital murder and stands accused of killing Pedro Emilio DePena, 40, of Houston, who died at the scene. The crime happened on July 21, 2012.
HPD Homicide Division offered details of the arrest: “Two unknown male suspects entered the Evergreen Game room at the above address. One of the suspects pulled the security guard out into the parking lot, pushed him to the ground, and fatally shot him. The same suspect then entered the game room and looked around while displaying a black, semi-automatic pistol. Both suspects then fled the scene. Further investigation developed information that identified Scallion as the shooter in this case. He was taken into custody on Tuesday without incident. Three other suspects believed involved in the robbery remain at large.”
