HOUSTON (AP) — Emergency personnel in Houston responding to a small grass fire have discovered the charred body of a woman.

Houston police are seeking the public’s health in identifying the body located around dawn Friday. Sgt. Ely Cisneros says investigators are trying to determine whether the woman had been killed elsewhere and her body dumped near a building.

Investigators say a person passing by called 911 after noticing some rubbish burning just northeast of downtown Houston. Firefighters located the body under some debris.

An autopsy has been ordered.

Further details on the woman weren’t immediately available.
