HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A family turned the tables on three suspects who broke into their home, according to police.

Three men, one of whom was armed, bombarded a home located on Brook Garden near Cloudbrook and were met by the homeowners. Inside the home were a man, his wife and their 21-year-old son.

As the family of three confronted the three suspects, the 21-year-old grabbed his father’s gun with the intention of fatally shooting one of the intruders who went into a bedroom. That suspect was fatally shot by the couple’s son. The other two suspects fled, but were spotted driving in the neighborhood a short time later.

According to investigators, although it appears as of the trio of suspects forced their way into the home, it appears as if nothing was stolen from the family.

Authorities continue their investigation in the case.
