HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Not only will All-Star Weekend in Houston be filled with athletes ready for fun and festivities, but some athletes will share their faith and take the time to fellowship with others.

On Saturday, February 16, Active Faith Sports, in collaboration with the Houston Rockets,will offer All-Star Weekend participants the “Faith and Family Event”.

The event will be hosted by Second Baptist Church, located at 19449 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77094 and will take place from 1-3 p.m.

NBA players from various teams will sit on a panel and discuss how their faith and how their Christian beliefs help them within the realms of entertainment, professional sports and throughout their lives. Some of the NBA basketball players scheduled to be apart of the panel discussion include: Carl Landry and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Anthony Tolliver of the Atlanta Hawks, Corey Maggette of the Detroit Pistons and many more athletes.

“This event will also feature a concert by Grammy nominated Christian rapper Lecrae, a high-flying performance by AcroDunk, an appearance by Rockets mascot Clutch and the Rockets cheerleaders, as well as lots of prize giveaways, including an autographed Jeremy Lin jersey and other autographed items. The fun-filled extravaganza is free for children of age three and under and everyone who purchases a ticket to the event will receive a voucher for a free ticket to a Houston Rockets regular season game. Active Faith encourages everyone who attends to bring a canned good or non perishable food item to be donated to the Houston Food Bank,” added officials with the event. Tickets can be purchased at
