MIDLOTHIAN, Texas (AP) — Police have released details about the 200-mile procession planned for a former Navy SEAL sniper who was killed at a Texas shooting range.
In a news release Saturday, Midlothian Police Chief Carl D. Smith said the procession for Chris Kyle will begin at about 8 a.m. Tuesday at the local school district’s multi-purpose stadium. It will end at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin. The procession will take U.S. 297 to Interstate 35E.
Police say military personnel, first responders and the Patriot Guard will escort the procession.
Kyle earned a reputation as one of the military’s most lethal snipers during four tours of duty in Iraq. His wartime account, “American Sniper,” was a best-seller.
An Iraq War veteran is accused of fatally shooting Kyle and a friend on Feb. 2.
