HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s office are looking for the suspect or suspects who sexually assaulted a teenaged girl and then beat her.
According to reports, the 16-year-old was dragged into a wooded area, sexually assaulted and badly beaten. Despite her trauma, she was able to walk at least a mile to a northwest Harris County movie theater and seek assistance.
“The suspect, described as a white male, 5’7 to 5’8, thin muscular build, wearing dark colored clothing, approached the victim from behind,” added officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The teen flagged down moviegoers at the theater on Spring Cypress Road and the North Freeway around 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The partially clothed girl was then airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital; at the time of this report, she was listed in stable condition.
HCSO officials are hoping that surveillance cameras at the movie theater will provide answers as to who assaulted and beat the teen girl.
“The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in this incident”, stated the HCSO. “If anyone observed the victim walking along Spring Cypress Road and Barker Cypress Road between the hours of 10:15 and 11:45 p.m. last night or has any information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713 -222-TIPS (84770).”
