Suspect Arrested In Fatal Stabbing, Injury Incident
HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Officials with the Houston Police Department have arrested a man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman and the wounding of a child this week.
Forty-one-year-old Lawrence Clinton Chambers has been formerly charged with murder and injury to a child. He is accused in the fatally stabbing Jemal Lockridge Chambers, 43 and causing blunt force trauma to her 13-year-old son.
Officials with HPD’s Homicide Division provided additional details of the crime: “Ms. Chambers’ daughter arrived home and noticed the house was locked and her mother’s car was not in the driveway. The daughter used a key to go inside. She then found her mother and Chambers’ son in her bedroom. Chambers was pronounced dead at the scene and her son was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in serious condition.”
A more thorough investigation led Houston police to Chambers. He was later identified as Chambers’ husband and stepfather of the injured pre-teen boy.
