HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing.

According to the Houston Police Department, the pair are suspects in the fatal stabbing of a man and the wounding of two others at residence located on Shady Villa Lane just before 1:00 a.m. Sunday. Forty-four-year-old Neva Jane Gonzales and 33-year-old Samuel Joseph were both charged with capital murder and accused in the death of Jose Fernandez Maes, 46.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants responded to the crime and offered the following details: “Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at the above address and upon arrival detained Gonzales and Alvarado. Mr. Maes and two other individuals had suffered multiple stab wounds. Maes was pronounced dead at the scene and the other two victims were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.”

“Further investigation revealed Gonzales and Alvarado had a previous argument with Maes and the victims. Gonzales and Alvarado then attempted to rob them. They were in the room with the victims when officers arrived and both suspects were taken into custody without incident,” added officials with HPD.
