Reward Increased For Information About Violent Sex Offender

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The reward for a known violent sexual offender has been increased. According to reports, Michael Enard has yet to be captured and authorities want him in custody immediately.
Fifty-eight-year-old Enard a registered sexual offender, removed his GPS tracking device and climbed over a fence at the Southeast Texas Transitional Treatment Center, located on Beaumont Highway at about 1:30 a.m. on January 19. He has family that live in both Houston as well as Lafayette, Louisiana.
Enard was paroled on December 11 from a 75-year prison sentence he received in 1986 for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault.
He was later sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1982 after being convicted of burglary with intent to rape and three counts of sexual assault.
Enard, who has threatened to re-offend, is described as a black man who stands approximately 6 feet tall and weights about 155 pounds.
Anyone with information regarding Enard’s whereabouts is asked to call Texas Crime Stoppers at 800-252-TIPS. Officials are now offering a $13,000 reward for information leading to his capture; the reward has been increased from its original amount of $3,000.
