Houston Tops ‘Best Places To Work List’
HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Mild weather, diversity and great looking people all add to the charm of Houston but according to a new study, Houston is one great place to find employment and thrive.
In a recent report by WorkplaceDynamics , Houston is named as one unbeatable place to work. In fact, eight of the top 10 companies on its National Top 150 Workplaces 2013 are based in Texas.
Three of those companies are located in the Houston area. They include: Anadarko Petroleum Corp.,( headquartered in The Woodlands and ranked No. 3 on the national list,) ; EOG Resources, (an independent oil and gas company and ranked No. 5; and Mattress Firm( ranked No. 7 on the list).
Officials with the report studied findings from feedback gathered through anonymous, objective surveys that were sent to over one million American workers in addition to 30 major publishers. The results of the surveys were aggregated and ranked.
The city of Houston is the fourth-largest city in the United States of America, and the largest city in the state of Texas. Houston was founded in 1836 on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou, now known as Allen’s Landing. Houston was incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837 and is named after after former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas.
