From J & R
In a world where athletes live their lives in the limelight and the best of the best at their beck and call, it’s refreshing to know that there are some that still take the time to engage with their public. Houston Texans J.J. Watt has taken “engaging with fans” to a whole other loving and devoted level.
After learning of a young fan who was upset because she could not marry the All-pro defensive end, he quickly sprang into action to make her dream come true. A YouTube video that was posted, showed the six-year-old girl crying because she wasn’t 25 years old and was too young to marry her love and idol, J.J. Watt.
Watt learned of the young girl’s strife and after doing some research, he was able to locate the family of the little girl. He found her and contacted the family. He wanted to make her dream come true so he decided to “propose” to the six-year-old; Watt asked her to “marry him for the day”.
So Breanna, accompanied by her family, met Watt at Reliant Stadium, not suspecting that she would receive the surprise of a lifetime.
Once there, Watt had had flowers and got down on one knee with a ring in his pocket. He asked her if she would be his “pretend wife” for a day.
Breanna joyously accepted Watt’s proposal and donned a white jersey as her wedding dress.
The “newlywed couple” then danced to her favorite artist, Justin Bieber. Watt, who described the event as a “cool one” says that giving back to fans is important to him and he looks for ways to give back to them in the best and most creative ways he can.
