HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A suspect has been arrested after carjacking a couple and then crashing a car after a police chase.

The incident happened Sunday night at a Wendy’s fast food restaurant parking lot located on the North Freeway.

According to officials, a man and a passenger were waiting at the drive-thru of the restaurant when a suspect approached them. The suspect then punched out the driver’s side window, forced the victim to get out and got in the car. The passenger was in the car with the suspect.

The victim led officials on a chase and it eventually ended on West Road with the vehicle crashing. The woman then got out of the car but the suspect did not. Harris County Sheriff’s Office authorities used a K-9 to force the suspect out of the car. He was also shot with a taser. The female passenger was not injured.

The suspect has been charged with felony evading arrest or detention and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
