HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to the Houston Police Department, charges have been filed against a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting of a man on Monday.
The suspect, 29-year-old Joseph Allen Green has been charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court accused in the killing of a man whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Officers K. McDonald and J. Horn reported the following about the crime: “Officers were called to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital and told a male patient had been assaulted in the back yard of a residence at 7105 Darien. Investigators learned the victim and suspect were friends and were among a group of friends when an argument started and quickly turned into a physical confrontation.”
It was at that time that Green pulled out a gun and fired at the victim multiple times. Witnesses transported the victim to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
“Green was identified as the suspect in the case and he was arrested hours later without incident,” added officials with the Houston Police Department.
