HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A four-year-old boy was killed by a dog Saturday night in Conroe. According to reports, the incident happened just after 5 p.m. at a home in on Pinehurst Street.
Four-year-old Christian Gormanous was playing with his nine-year-old sister, Trinity, in their backyard when he climbed over a chain link fence into a neighbor’s yard.
Investigators stated that although the dog was chained, it was able to reach the boy. As a result, the dog attacked and bit him. Christian’s sister was able to get the dog off of him. She brought her brother back over the fence and then took the young boy inside of their home. Their mom then called 911.
The young boy was rushed to a hospital by a helicopter but he did not survive. Additional reports indicate that animal control officers took custody of the dog. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, but criminal charges are not expected.
