Wheatley High School Evacuated After Bomb Threat

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Wheatley High School in east Houston was evacuated because of a bomb threat. Officials forced students outside around 10:30 a.m. Friday.

As of 11 a.m. Friday, the evacuation was still in effect, according to a spokesperson for the Houston Independent School District.

Although no suspicious devices or packages were found on or near the school’s campus, HISD said its district police in collaboration with K9 officers and the Houston Fire Department were on the scene.

No additional details were available at the time of this report.
