Officer Opens Fire On Burglary Suspect


HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to Houston police, an officer pulled out his gun on a burglary suspect and opened fire in the overnight hours.

The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. at the officer’s residence on Sage Trail near Sage Orchard.

The officer reported seeing a suspicious vehicle driving through the neighborhood and then he observed a man trying to pull on a car handle on one of his vehicles, on his surveillance cameras.

After noting that, he went for his gun, went outside of his home to confront the suspect and then fired his weapon several times. The suspect’s hands were concealed from the officer as he charged forward toward the officer.

As authorities continue to investigate the case, it is not clear to them if the suspect was hit after the officer fired rounds from his weapon. He fled from the scene.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.
