HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Grab your Houston Texans t-shirt, wave the pom poms and show your Houston Texans pride on Friday because Houston Mayor Annise Parker has declared Friday “Go Houston Texans Day”.

Citizens in Houston(and surrounding areas of course!) are being asked to show their support for the Houston Texans as they prepare to meet the New England Patriots in a “winner take all” match up over the weekend.

Mayor Parker also announced that City Hall will be lit Battle Red through the weekend to show more support for the Houston Texans.

The Texans remain focused and driven when it comes to beating New England, despite doubts and criticism by many.

The Houston Texans will take on the New England Patriots Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium.
