Man Shot To Death After Choking Roommate’s Dog
HOUSTON (CBS Houston) According to police, a scuffle between roommates ended in a fatal shooting.
Reports indicate that officers were called to an apartment home at the Cherry Creek Apartments on Hollister at Tidwell just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Upon arrival, police found a man believed to be in his early 20s, with a gunshot wound in his chest. The victim was rushed to an area hospital where he later died.
After a preliminarily investigation, officers found that the alleged shooter was the apartment’s renter.
Houston police stated that a fight broke out between the victim and the apartment’s renter and the victim then allegedly tried to choke the renter’s dog. Fearing for his safety and well being, the renter told police that he retrieved his gun and shot the man.
Authorities continue to investigate the case with it being examined as one of possible self-defense. The shooter was questioned and released by officials.
The case is expected to be turned over to the district attorney where the D.A. will determine if charges are filed.
