Update: Missing Toddler Found Safe


HOUSTON (CBS Houston)  A missing toddler was found safe Thursday evening after an Amber Alert went into effect.

Authorities recommended that two-year-old Alizae Mata be checked out at an area hospital.

The Amber Alert was issued just before 9:00 p.m. Thursday, but was cancelled before midnight.

The family of the toddler initially thought she was at Memorial Hermann but she was not there. The toddler was later found safe.

Twenty-two-year-old Jessenia Saldana faces a kidnapping charge after vanishing with the girl.

Police are searching for a missing two-year-old girl who reportedly vanished with a family friend.

According to Houston police, Alizae Mata’s mother allowed 22-year-old Jessenia Saldana to take daughter to run errands at about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Salanda and the toddler were supposed to return Wednesday afternoon, but they have not been seen nor heard from since.

Two-year-old Alizae is Hispanic, stands approximately 2 feet tall and weights about 35 pounds. She is also described as having brown hair and brown eyes and was also last seen wearing a red coat and gray leggings.

Saldana, a Hispanic female is stands approximately 5-feet, 2-inches to 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs between 180 to 200 pounds. She is also described as having brown hair and brown eyes.
