Schools Cancel Activities, Evening Classes Due To Weather

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Because of the heavy rains falling in Houston and surrounding areas as well as the flooded areas, many schools have cancelled classes and after-school activities.

The following is information of cancellations due to the inclement weather:

Houston ISD: All after-school activities, including tutorials and club meetings, have been cancelled for the following high schools: Kashmere HS, Lee HS, Jones HS, Booker T. Washington HS, Milby HS, Furr HS, Davis HS, Wheatley HS.

HISD’s Athletics Director: All HISD athletic activities are cancelled for Wednesday evening.

Houston Community College’s School of Continuing Education: All classes at all HCC campuses scheduled for Wednesday, January 9, afternoon and evening are cancelled due to inclement weather. Students can call 713-718-5303 for further details and information.

The HCC Northeast (Codwell) Campus: Closed Wednesday, due to weather.
