HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A Harris County home improvement center was evacuated Wednesday after a man brought a grenade to the store.

According to Harris County sheriff’s deputies, the incident happened at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store on F.M. 529 near state Highway 6 just after 1 p.m.

Additional reports indicate that the man who walked around the store with a hollowed-out hand grenade, then put the grenade down in the lumber department.

Then the man called store employees over and told them that he left a grenade in the lumber department. Further reports revealed that the man was bothered by the fact that he walked around with the grenade and received no attention.

Employees called for help and deputies evacuated the store. As the store was evacuated and then closed, officials later determined that grenade was inert.

The man was detained by police but later released. He is expected not to face any charges in the incident.
