HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Officials recovered a gun from the campus of a Magnolia ISD elementary school. Information was received Wednesday afternoon that an elementary student had a weapon on the Lyon Elementary campus.
Staff quickly recovered the unloaded gun, believing that the student did not have any ammunition for the weapon. School officials also believe that the student did not intend to use the weapon on campus. Both the Precinct 5 of the Montgomery County Constable’s Office along with district officials investigated the incident.
Parents of Lyon Elementary students were informed of the incident by a MISD phone message as they continue to work to provide a safe school environment for all students. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident. MISD stated that they have an ongoing commitment in providing a safe environment for all students and will work daily to ensure such.
