HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Deputies continued their search for a missing Santa Fe-area woman; the woman was reported missing Friday.
Deputies answered a call from a home located on Casey Road in an unincorporated area of Galveston County which is located south of Santa Fe Friday afternoon, just before 5 p.m.
Galveston County Sheriff’s Office deputies with the assistance of volunteers combed wooded areas and terrain looking for 21-year-old Ashley Collard who reportedly left her home Friday afternoon.
According to reports, Collard had gotten angry with her mother after being instructed to clean her room. She took several hundred dollars from her mother’s purse and her dog and then stormed out of the house in a fit of rage.
Investigators have heightened concern for the search for Collard because she reportedly has limited mental capacities that prevent her from reasoning and thinking clearly.
Although investigators do not suspect foul play, they are concerned about Collard’s well-being.
Ashely Collard is described as a white woman with light brown to blonde hair and blue eyes. She also reportedly stands five feet tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds.
She was last seen wearing a black-hooded coat with fur surrounding the hood’s edge, black Capri-style pants and zebra print flip-flop style shoes.
Collard also reportedly wears glasses but did not leave home with them. She is also described as having a chipped front tooth.
Texas EquuSearch joined the search Sunday and officials as well as volunteers are expected to resume their search for Collard on Monday. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being asked to contact GCSO at 409-766-2322 immediately.
