QUESTION

After what we saw the Texans do on Sunday against Indy, what are your expectations for Saturday?

ANSWER

The sad, but simple truth is anyone who believes the Texans can get past this weekend, much less to the Super Bowl, is only dreaming.

Of course anything is possible — the ball bounces in funny directions and the talent level of this team remains among the best in the league.

But somewhere there is a disconnect and too many things are going wrong to fix in just a matter of a few days.

The running game, passing game, the offensive line, the secondary, staying on the field on third-down, getting off the field defensively on third-down and of course coaching and quarterbacking are all in need of repair. It starts, of course, with Matt Schaub. The last game was his to own and he couldn’t do it. This one is all on him, too. If he cannot respond, the Texans do not move one. Period.
