HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The Houston Police Department is investigating a possible murder-suicide that took place on the city’s east side.

According to authorities, the incident happened Tuesday evening in a home located on Wiggins near Laurentide Street.

Police received a call from a 23-year-old woman just before 6 p.m. asking for help. She and her 30-year-old life partner were involved in an altercation about a gun.

As police were en route to the home, additional reports indicate that the 30-year-old woman fatally shot the 23-year-old woman. She then reportedly turned the gun on herself. Both women were found dead. The couple had lived at the home for several years.

Police did not reveal if the home was the site of previous domestic disturbances. Authorities continue to investigate the case.
