HOUSTON (CBS Houston) One person is dead and five are injured after a head-on collision Thursday night.

Eyewitness reports indicate that the driver of a Jeep Cherokee changed lanes into oncoming traffic on Boudreaux near FM 2920.

That driver then hit another motorist head-on and then rolled over and landed upside down. The driver of the Jeep was killed. A female passenger in the Jeep reportedly suffered minor injuries. The parents and two children in the other car also suffered minor injuries. As officials await autopsy results from the driver who died, they continue to investigate the accident.

Upon a preliminary investigation, officials stated that there were no smells of alcohol in the car; but due to the nature of the accident, they are not ruling alcohol out as a factor. It is unclear to authorities why the driver of the Jeep changed lanes.
