HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A driver was killed after being hit by a METRO bus Sunday. Officials with METRO stated that the accident happened just after 1 p.m.
A vehicle stalled on 45-North near North Main Street with a flat tire and caused a four vehicle collision.
A METRO bus traveling on the freeway, saw the driver and the stalled car but crashed into the driver and the car and then swerved, hitting one of the drivers from the accident, who was out of his car during the impact.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was dismembered due to the accident and impact of the crash and parts of the that driver’s body were scattered over the highway.
Additional reports indicate that people were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital; their injuries were non-life threatening.
The bus, which was in-service at the time of the accident, had one passenger on board who was treated for cuts and bruises on his face. Authorities did not release name of the METRO bus driver nor the person who was killed at the time of this report.
