HOUSTON (CBS Houston) The Katy Freeway remained closed for more than two hours early Friday after a three-vehicle accident. The accident was reported just before 4 a.m. Friday morning.
The incident happened near Barker Cypress. All traffic was diverted off the freeway just outside Beltway 8.
Deputies stated that the 25-year-old woman, hit the back of the slow-moving semi truck around 3:30 a.m. Due to the force of impact, the roof of her car peeled off.
She was ejected and taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Although she was listed in serious condition, she was conscious and able to communicate with doctors.
The freeway opened just before 7 a.m., but the residual effects of the accident caused slow areas of traffic to move.
