HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Houston is preparing for both heavy storms and winter-feeling weather. Downpours are expected for Sunday and come Monday, the temperature highs are only expected to reach into the mid-50s.
Sunday began with warm, tropical-like conditions, but area forecasters say that residents should not to become comfortable with the warmth. A cold front is expected to move through late Sunday and with it will come a significant drop in temperatures.
With a 70 percent chance of rain expected for Sunday afternoon, there is a chance that the storms could develop into severe weather. Highs for Sunday are expected to top out around the low 80s.
The lows for Sunday are expected to descend into the mid 60s and temperatures could get as low as the mid-40s by Monday morning. Temperature highs are expected to remain in the 50s through Wednesday and will reach the mid 60s and low 70s by week’s end.
