HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A car dealership manager who was allegedly shot by an employee has died from his wounds. Reports indicate that Robert Kuentz died at Memorial Hermann Hospital on Monday.
Kuentz worked as a manager at the Mak Haik Chevrolet pre-owned vehicle dealership; that’s where the shooting took place Friday.
Kuentz and the alleged suspect Keith Edward Grimmett, 49, had some type of argument on Thursday. While working on Friday, Grimmett reportedly shot Kuentz in the neck and then fled from the dealership in a vehicle. Kuentz who had been in critical condition since he was shot, was wounded in his neck.
Upon tracking Grimmett down, police arrested him and charged him with aggravated assault. Now with the death of Kuentz, Grimmitt could have those charges upgraded soon.
Additional reports indicate Grimmitt was a salesman at the dealership and was angry with Kuentz about a meeting the two men had.
Grimmett, who was reportedly an employee at the dealership for only a short time, sits in jail without bond.
Kuentz leaves behind a wife and a small child.
