HOUSTON (CBS Houston) In the state of Texas, retail gasoline prices have fallen two cents this week. The news comes just as many prepare for car trips to Thanksgiving destinations.

On Tuesday, AAA stated that the average price at the pump across Texas was $3.16 per gallon. the rest of the nation is seeing gas prices decline three cents at a price tag of $3.41 per gallon.
Within Texas, the city of Beaumont has the cheapest gasoline at $3.06 per gallon while drivers in El Paso pay the highest in the Lone Star State. The average price of a gallon of gas in El Paso is $3.30 per gallon.

AAA Texas predicts nearly 3.3 million Texans will take to the roads from Wednesday through Sunday as part of travel for the Thanksgiving holiday. Many travelers are expected to drive during the extended holiday weekend.
