HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A Galveston County man who was convicted of biting his female roommate during an argument with his girlfriend, will spend the next 20 years behind bars.

Jacques Quinn, 32, was allegedly intoxicated during the January 18th incident in Galveston County, according to prosecutors in the case. He was convicted of felony assault causing bodily injury in the family violence case. Previous court records indicate that Quinn has more than a dozen convictions that range from assault, drug possession and theft.

At the time of the incident, Quinn was living with his girlfriend and another female roommate. In a statement, Quinn stopped biting the woman only after his girlfriend hit him in the back of the head with a pot.

The statement also indicated that Quinn was under the influence of a narcotic and was hallucinating at the time of the biting.

In addition to Quinn receiving the maximum prison time allowed by law or biting the roommate, Quinn was fined $10,000.
