A driver was killed after his car hit a firetruck that was returning to a station. Authorities stated that a Houston Fire Department pumper truck was backing into a station around 4 a.m. Sunday when the the 21-year-old motorist hit the left side of the firetruck.
A witness who had stopped her car to allow the firetruck entry into the garage, saw an approaching car hit the firetruck. Authorities indicated that there was evidence at the scene that supported their belief that speed played a factor in the accident. Investigators believe that the driver made no attempt to slow down or stop for the firetruck. The driver, who died at the scene did not have his identity released at the time of this report.
There were no injuries reported from anyone in the firetruck. Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
