According to officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, 24 suspected illegal immigrants were found packed in a van outside a home early Thursday morning in southwest Houston.

Among those found included men, women and children. Reports indicate that just before 5 a.m., officers with the Houston Police Department reportedly took note of a few people standing outside the van near Hillcroft Avenue and Edgemoor Drive.

As officers went to investigate the surroundings and ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals, the individuals who were standing around the van scattered.

The officers then peered into the van and found additional individuals packed in the vehicle. I.C.E. agents were called in to question and reportedly apprehended the suspected illegal immigrants found in the van. Authorities did not reveal were the suspected immigrants were from. No other information was released at the time of this report.
