Reports indicate that Texas Instruments is making plans to build a new state of the art facility in Sugar Land; with that new facility comes the promise of hundreds of jobs.
The City of Sugar Land in collaboration with the Sugar Land Development Corporation recently approved an incentive package in support of Texas Instruments to place a plant and development facility at the northeast corner of US Highway 59 and University Boulevard that would be in the Telfair commercial development area.
The facility, which will be built on a seven-acre site and bring more than 375 jobs to Sugar Land, will be approximately 160,000 square feet and should be completed by early 2014.
Texas Instruments is an American global company that designs and makes semiconductors. The company, based in Dallas, also sells to electronics designers and manufacturers globally.
The company is among the Top 20 Semiconductor producing companies in the world.
