A five-year-old girl who was abducted from a northwest Harris County library was later found safe near another library.

According to Harris County Sheriff’s investigators, the incident occurred Tuesday around 6:00 p.m. at the Fairbanks Library on Gessner Road. Authorities stated that the child was at the library with her mom and teenage sister. The girl was then separated from her family. It was at that time during the separation a man lured her into his vehicle.

About 15 minutes later, a man who works at a nearby car shop found the young child crying and walking alone in a field near another library at the intersection of Tanner Road and Gessner Road.

The child was later taken to the Texas Children’s Hospital to be evaluated. No arrests were made in this case at the time of this report.
