TYLER, Texas (AP) — An East Texas woman has been arrested on charges she faked being a police officer, flashed a badge and robbed two men.

Tyler police on Thursday charged 39-year-old Jennifer Louise Cowser with two counts of impersonating a public servant. Bond was set at $300,000 for the Tyler woman.

Police say a man was robbed Oct. 14 at a car wash. The victim reported a woman who showed a badge took his wallet and cellphone from his vehicle.

Investigators say another man was robbed Oct. 7 by a woman who displayed a badge while outside a grocery store. Police say the woman demanded $10 from the man and then took his wallet when he refused to give her money.

Online Smith County jail records did not list an attorney for Cowser.
