Linsanity In Texas As New Era Dawns For Rockets

HOUSTON (AP)Jeremy Lin and the Houston Rockets are making a fresh start together.

The 6-foot-3 point guard who made a splash with the Knicks is ready to lead the rebuilt Rockets into what the franchise is billing as “a new age” in its history. There are certainly a lot of new faces.

Point guard Kyle Lowry, centers Marcus Camby and Samuel Dalembert and forward Chase Budinger were traded, while guards Goran Dragic and Courtney Lee signed with other teams. The Rockets waived fan favorite Luis Scola.

Shooting guard Kevin Martin is back after averaging 17.1 points per game. Houston also signed 7-footer Omer Asik to fill the void inside, and acquired forward Carlos Delfino, guards Gary Forbes and Shaun Livingston.

The Rockets open the regular season Oct. 31 at Detroit.
