Rice University is to host the top judge on the nation’s highest court.
U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts is to speak during an hour-long event Wednesday on the Rice campus in Houston.
At the event, “A Conversation with the Chief Justice,” Roberts will participate in a discussion with Rice President David Leebron before answering questions from an audience.
The chief justice’s appearance is part of events this month commemorating Rice’s centennial.
The 57-year-old Roberts began serving on the court after being appointed by President George W. Bush in September 2005. The conservative made headlines this summer when he voted with the court’s liberals to uphold much of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.
