Cushing Suffers Torn ACL, Done For Season

By ANNA-MEGAN RALEY, CBS Houston

Texans coach Gary Kubiak confirmed Monday that inside linebacker Brian Cushing has suffered a torn ACL during the team’s 23-17 win Monday night against the New York Jets. Cushing will have surgery in two to three weeks once the swelling has subsided enough.

“It’s a big blow to our team,” Kubiak said. “You feel bad for Brian because he works so hard and has been playing so well; leading tackler on our team. He’s going to be missed.

“We have to have guys pick it up around him and we’ve got to find a way to move forward. We’re all just disappointed for him. It’s a tough day for him.”

Cushing, the Texans defensive team captain, suffered the injury in the second quarter and left the game.
