The official record will show that the Texas Longhorns beat the Oklahoma State Cowboys 41-36 last Saturday night. Cowboy fans seem to disagree. According to the Daily Oklahoman, Longhorn running back Joe Bergeron’s game-winning two yard touchdown run with 30-seconds left should have been ruled a fumble, not a touchdown.
The paper says the head of officiating for the Big 12 agrees. According to reports, Walt Anderson – head of officiating for the Big 12 called OSU head coach Mike Gundy and “apologized profusely” for the call. However, the Big 12 conference’s official Twitter page released a short statement a while later saying the Oklahoman report was “not accurate.” Additionally, OSU associate AD Kevin Klintworth tweeted “AD Mike Holder is unaware of an apology from the #big12.”
