MONTREAL, Quebec (CBSMiami) – Legendary wrestler and WWE commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler suffered a heart attack during Monday night’s live broadcast of “Raw” and was rushed to the hospital.
Lawler collapsed during a tag-team match. According to his broadcast partner, Michael Cole, the incident was not part of the show and serious. Cole told viewers Lawler fell out of his chair and doctors rushed to his aid where they performed CPR.
The WWE issued a statement after “Raw” went off the air saying: “Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler suffered a heart attack while commentating during last night’s broadcast of Monday Night Raw in Montreal. We are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery and returns to WWE in the near future. Our thoughts are with Jerry and his family.”
