Houston (CBS Houston) - CBS Houston has received word that Roger Clemens, the former Yankees pitcher, has signed up to play for Houston’s minor league team The Sugar Land Skeeters.
Matt O’Brien, the Skeeters’ president and Clemens’ manager Randy Hendricks said the 50-year-old pitcher will start this Saturday.
Clemens had a full workout today and was still able to pitch at 87 mph.
This is good news for the former MVP because Clemens has been having issues the past few years due to the allegations of steroid use and the accusations of perjury when he testified before Congress.
Originally from Ohio, Clemens currently resides in Houston.
