Two Houston Police Officers Charged With Possession Of Controlled Substance
HOUSTON (AP) — Two Houston police officers have been relieved of duty after being charged in an undercover drug investigation.
Police say Officer German Ramos and Officer Kendrick Ferguson were arrested Wednesday. Both are charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Harris County Jail records show Kendrick was being held Thursday with bond set at $130,000. Bond for Ramos was set at $100,000. Online jail records did not list attorneys for the officers.
Court documents allege Ramos and Ferguson on July 31 were in a patrol car, pulled over a vehicle and stole cocaine from the occupant. The person allegedly was an undercover officer.
Police spokesman Kese Smith says an internal affairs investigation is under way.
