HOUSTON (CBS Houston) — The Houston Rockets drafted their second 6-foot-8-ish combo forward of the NBA Draft when they took Kentucky’s Terrence Jones with the 18th overall selection Thursday night.

Two picks earlier the Rockets took Iowa State 6-f0ot-8 forward Royce White with the 16th pick, making it likely they will move at least one of their three first round picks. The Rockets are still developing two combo forwards in last year’s first round pick Marcus Morris and third-year Kentucky product Patrick Patterson.

The Rockets are claiming that they will keep all three first round picks from Thursday night, which includes UConn guard Jeremy Lamb. That would give the Rockets a total of six first or second year players next season and that doesn’t seem ideal for a team hoping to break through into the playoffs.

But Jones could be an interesting player for the Rockets because of he is a lefty and has a decent inside-out game.
