HOUSTON (CBS Houston) — This certainly is unfolding the way the Rockets had envisioned with no apparent takers to move up into the Top 10 with their package of three first round picks.

The Rockets selected UConn shooting guard Jeremy Lamb with the 12th overall pick in the first round for their first selection Thursday night. They still have the 14th and 16th picks in the first round.

The expectation was that the Rockets would use some combination of three first round picks and perhaps point guard Kyle Lowry to move into the Top 10 in hopes of enticing the Orlando Magic to relinquish All-Star center Dwight Howard. But that has not happened and it now looks like the Rockets will make all three of their first round picks which is clearly not what they wanted.
